ISF 2016 | 100 Breaststroke Final – Rikke Pedersen (DEN)

She won the race in a time of 1:06.90 – watch for her wide and strong arm stroke as well as her powerful kick propelling her forward. Even at a world class level, it seems that Rikke still has potential to swim faster by improving her pullouts.
Breaststroke Speed Drill
Quick video showing one of my athletes demonstrate the breaststroke speed drill. I had her use fins to give her more leverage but the goal would be to execute this drill the same way without fins.
I believe this is a good example of how this drill should look – she’s doing a good job staying on top and transferring the power from the hips into the upper body.

Breaststroke swimming from the hands down – think about it this way
Just a thought for all coaches, I think about breaststroke in this way, as every coach does things their own way and so what I learned is to take one thing and make it your own.
