As we mentioned many times, it’s easier to kick after a hard set as you can work harder on your legs without compromising technique. This wasn’t really the issue in this case – starting out with the kick just helps the athlete to refocus on their body position. We always have athletes that prefer not to wear the fins in this situations and we keep it “optional” as we want them to feel confident when they get out of the water for the day.
