This morning I had a small group of young swimmers who specialise in breaststroke, train together. As a result the session was geared towards breaststroke using some set ideas I got from Mike Barrowman 10 years ago.
Workout
Warm-up:
Set up exercise included stationary breaststroke stroke technique and videos on how to do it best.
16 x 50m as 25 free, 25 breast with Fins @ 1:00
8 x 100m Breaststroke Kick – can use snorkel @ 2:40
#1 – build into the Kick; # 2-8 All fast at best average, counting kicks on last 4
24 x 25m Fly swim with fins @ :45
Must be excellent technique with great rhythm; the focus is on hands in, hips up.
Four Rounds:
1 x 200m 3 Down, 3 Up @ 4:00
The three strokes down are regular strokes (not pull outs), no breathing.
2 x 100m Layout breaststroke @ 2:00
4 x 50m Dec 1-4 @ 1:10
