200 back as 50 kick, 50 swim easy
The backstroke kicking and swimming part is the recovery for the distance group between their efforts. Main goal is to have them turn their arms in another way and get oxygen (reason why it’s on the back).
What is the reason always used in your own sets kick?what effect physiology use kick in sets?
2 rounds of the following:
3×50 choice kick @55″
3×25 choice w/fins FAST (paddles optional) @1′ –> UW fly kick on one round
125 choice w/fins easy
There isn’t any particular reason. UT Coach Eddie Reese once said “When in doubt, work the legs.”. And it’s something I believe is important in swimming, so it’s a big part of the daily work with my athletes.
