Another thing that changed this season are morning sessions - starting with them early on week two already. In the past we would hold back for another week or two to allow the athletes to get some extra sleep in the mornings . . .

The term “cruise speed” may be confusing here as you could qualify the 6×100’s of the following 600 as cruise speed as well. However, this simply means that perfect stroke is a must and all the athletes need to do is make the interval (can be different speeds for different athletes or even for the same athletes on different days). The aerobic base on the 100’s follows a similar pattern whereas the base speed has to be reached right from the first 100 of the set.
