Friday evening practice for the National & Junior National group continues the aerobic and sprint focus getting ready for more racing over the weekend.
Thursday evening and the full team is back together for an aerobic and sprint focused evening session to continue the recovery and also keep the momentum from the Regional Championships as our swimming continues to be either at race tempo or very relaxed.
This Wednesday evening workout was for the Junior athletes racing at their Team Championships on Sunday. Everybody else had another day off. We just spent a short hour in the pool doing some relaxed aerobic work.
Last workout for the month of November and also our last session before competing at the Regional Championships. Really keeping things relaxed this evening and focusing on recovery including some breath control and floating.
Thursday evening session for the National & Junior National groups including “meet prep” work incorporating a couple fast swims from a dive as well as some relay takeovers while keeping the overall intensity of the practice low with plenty of recovery between the fast efforts.
Mid-week aerobic recovery focused evening session for the National & Junior National squad. This was a short hour “taper practice” offering different options for our “event groups”.
Short hour long Tuesday morning practice for the student-athletes of the sports class including a few sprints and relaxed aerobic swims. This was our only “early” workout this week as we were competing at Regional Championships (focus meet of this training cycle) during the weekend.
“Championship Week” for the National & Junior National groups starting with a recovery focused Monday evening session including some speed work. We’re keeping quite a bit of the “intensity” and continue to decrease volume – swimming is now mainly very relaxed or at “race tempo”.
Last one, fast one! The National & Junior National groups finishing this week with a morning racing practice testing the waters with just one week to go to their end of cycle “taper meet”.
