Fernando Delgado started coaching in 1980 and is currently the Head Coach for the Guaynabo City Mets Swim Team in Puerto Rico. His team has won the National Championship of Puerto Rico in 2018 and 2019. They currently train out of 3 facilities and have 115 members.
Coach Fernando was a part of the ASCA Fellows Class in 2006 and is a lecturer for FINA. Fernando is an ASCA Level 5 certified coach and went to 3 Olympics Games – Barcelona in 1992, the Youth Olympics in Singapore in 2010, and Rio in 2016. He also coached at multiple FINA World Championships, Pan American Games, and Central American and Caribbean Games.
