My last session with the Beluga kids in Biel this Saturday morning continuing our meet preparation work with a couple quality sprints as well as some fun with a relay at the end.
Two days of swimming in a row this week with this Thursday session. Decided to mix some “longer” swims using fins with shorter freestyle sets without the fins.
Back to the pool this Wednesday after a few busy days that kept me out of the water. Decided to work off short blocks of 100’s mixing low-end aerobic freestyle & backstroke and sets of 25’s alternating sculling & underwater kicking.
Tuesday evening session for the Beluga kids in Biel including two distinctive parts starting with a technique and “feel” block to set up for the short axis block and breaking things up with some longer kicking.
As I start to feel better and with enough lane space during regular lap swimming hours, I’m trying to implement a bit more of butterfly into my short workouts. This Friday, I also included a couple short sprints and some faster 25’s.
This Wednesday, I had to go to the pool a bit earlier than usual and had also less time at my disposal. Still got a good workout in and was trying to slowly integrate more “regular sets” into my routine.
Saturday morning “racing” practice for the Beluga kids in Biel. They will soon have their first competition of the season and today we really wanted to hone in on starts and underwaters with a couple high quality sprints.
Onto week two and slowly starting to have a better feel for the water again. Not aiming to push volume or do any “crazy” things, however, trying to integrate a couple faster efforts with the underwater kicking sprints towards the end.
Tuesday evening for the Beluga kids in Biel starting to put the “puzzle pieces” of the last week together and slowly adding a bit more “volume”.
Second swim of my “back to the pool” campaign continuing to take things slow and keep intensity mostly down. Keeping fins on for now as they allow me to “relax” and focus on good habits until my feel and overall conditioning improve.
