Wednesday morning sprint workout from the High School and Post Grad group. The high school group swims 1 hour before school. Everyone Sprints the first hour, after a short warm-up.

We usually do longer, endurance-based workouts as the week moves on and the weekend is upon us. We do this as it’s possible to do endurance work with a little fatigue settling in.
Aug 27, 2014 – Plantation Swim Team
Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for my high school athletes are only 1 hour and usually consist of Warm-up, Main Set, Kicking, Drilling, Pulling, etc. and Cool Down.

Friday morning workout focusing on IM during first hour and working with the Power Tower during the second hour of practice.

The main set of this workout has a couple nicknames within my club…currently it’s being called “The OTC Special”. This set is based off a session that was done by a couple of my athletes while working out with the mens triathlon team at the Olympic Training Center here in Colorado Springs.

Here is one of our early season aerobic / distance workouts geared toward our Mile and Open Water swimmers. As you may have guessed our sprinters get testy during these, but after all the grumbling and being early season, everyone benefits very well from these aerobic from endurance sets.
