Improvement of any stroke is always generated in the fine details, but probably most important in breaststroke than any other stroke.
In this video titled “Building a Better Breaststroke” from the Championship Productions’ Best of Club series, NCAP West Head Coach and PSW Contributor Jeremy Linn takes apart the stroke and reconstructs it, one step at a time.
Starting with the kick, progressing through the pull and showing how to put it all together with tempo drills, Coach Jeremy set out to create a complete toolbox for coaching breaststroke, and he shares it with you in this video so that you can develop championship-caliber swimmers!
The video also features sections on important racing components such as starts, turns, finishes and particular to the breaststroke – the pullout.
Below is a short clip featuring one of the many drills in the video called the “Accordion Drill” – this drill helps to teach the timing of the stroke, putting the kick together with the pull.
We did purchase our own copy of the Instant Video version and certainly believe it’s a great resource for anyone looking to help their athletes improve in the breaststroke.
As part of this review, we did give away a $40 gift card for the Championship Productions store, allowing to purchase a copy of this video or any other video offered on their website.
Congratulations to Patriot Swim Team Head Senior Coach Marc Rizzo for winning our gift certificate!
