We usually do this set on a Saturday morning. But I threw the group a curve ball this morning! I’m very glad I changed it up for the group this morning. We had an excellent workout and some fast swimming from the entire group this morning.

Wednesday morning sprint workout from the High School and Post Grad group. The high school group swims 1 hour before school. Everyone Sprints the first hour, after a short warm-up.
Aug 27, 2014 – Plantation Swim Team
Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for my high school athletes are only 1 hour and usually consist of Warm-up, Main Set, Kicking, Drilling, Pulling, etc. and Cool Down.

Jul 28, 2014 – Podium Swim Club – Speed & VO2max
This is a lunch-time workout that was done not long ago. The main set focus is on speed. Even though there’s a longer effort in there, the work – rest ratio is 1:2 at worst on the high intensity efforts (90% effort and above).

This set was prescribe earlier this week and is purely speed focused. Not speed endurance, or threshold, but VO2max efforts.
