Final day of taper before State Championships. A very short session mirroring our last few practices.
Taper continues. Shorter session, but still some good quality. Longer warm-ups with a focus on form and mechanics. Then a short amount of fast efforts for everyone before we break out into different groups.
After our easy shake out swim on Saturday, we do a little more work here. Some aerobic swimming, but we finish with some fast efforts.
Slowly winding down the volume. Good warm-up working on some drills. Fast session today. Working sprint speed and some speed endurance.
Good aerobic session today. A little pace/quality and intensity thrown in here and there, but really just taking a little break for the most part and stretching it out.
With a large and important Invite meet beginning the following day (prelims, finals over two days) we had an easier day to prepare. A longer warm-up, using “The Brick” to work on underwaters. As stated before, if you don’t have access to these boards, just work underwaters without anything.
While we have a meet the following day, it’s against a non-conference team so we did a little work during practice that’s harder than usual for a pre-meet session.
A short practice session. Coming off Spring Break training, and a meet tomorrow, we ease up on the guys a little!
Pre Dual Meet practice – coming off our first meet of the season the previous day. A balance of good quality and a little recovery.
Our first dual meet of the season is upon us, so a slightly easier day as we prepare for a very busy seven days. After this meet we have one day before our next meet, and then after the upcoming weekend we have our third dual meet.
