A good way to get some LCM IM work in. This was a great workout. It’s important to control the first 400 Free IM, so it’s easy to progress on round 2.

I had a few kids freak out and go too fast, and they weren’t able to get back to their pace. One of our boys, who recently went a 4:49 IM (PR at our last meet) did the following times:
5:10, 2:31, 5:03, 2:35, 4:47, 2:20

Workout

3x:
1×200 Free (3) — 50R 50L breathing
4×50 Pull (55), (50), (45) x round
1×200 Free IM (320)
4×50 IM Drill (1) — IM order

8x:
1×50 (1) Free 25 + Stroke 25*
1×25 (40) Stroke** — 2 of each

3x:
1×400 Free IM (6)* Descend 1-3
4×100 Free (130)
1×200 Free IM (320)* Descend 1-3
4×50 Free (50)
Extra (10) between rounds

200 easy with FINS

8×100 FINS Flutter Kick with Board
4- (140) — descend as you go, 1- (135), 1- (130), 1- (125), 1- (120)
