Last workout before competing in Allschwil this weekend. Another recovery focused workout for the National & Junior National groups including some meet preparation work.
Thursday evening practice starting our “two day mini-taper” with an aerobic recovery focused session for the National & Junior National groups leading into this weekend’s meet.
Wednesday evening workout for the National & Junior National groups including two small lactate production sets before we’ll get more “specific race training” at the meet this upcoming weekend.
The student-athletes of the sports class starting their Tuesday with an aerobic and stroke focused morning session with mostly low intensity as we aim to include recovery between our two hard days this week.
First day following our intensive three week long block of training during the fall holidays. We are now entering our “competition phase” of the cycle towards Short Course Nationals and will start to include more lactate production and tolerance work. This Monday evening practice was our first attempt and provided small adaptations for the sprinters.
Finishing this three week home-based training camp for the National & Junior National groups with some active recovery in mind going through an aerobic focused Saturday morning session including some longer swims and mixing things up with equipment.
Friday evening provided the third speed endurance workout of the week for the National & Junior National groups.
This week we provided everybody with an extra morning off and ran the same practice on Thursday and Friday for half of the team on both days. The session followed a “kick-pull-swim” pattern for some active recovery.
Hump day relay fun for the National & Junior National squads as we were using a different method for this Wednesday’s evening speed endurance sets.
