Sunday Funday in Karlsruhe for the Junior Nationals crew with an aerobic and kicking focused morning session including some relay takeovers. We had lots of time this morning and all of the short course pool to ourselves again. Relaxed atmosphere and good energy during the relay work.

Fast day of training for the Junior Nationals crew in Karlsruhe this Friday. Both our practices today were done in the long course pool – sprint focused morning session while the afternoon was more about (pure) speed.

Mid-week aerobic recovery session for the athletes preparing for Junior Nationals following a tough workout the previous day. A little bit of faster paced aerobic work using fins & paddles mixed with a choice of kicking or pulling through the first part.

Tuesday starting with an optional session for all athletes. The aim for those showing up was to get into the rhythm of performing in the morning. Short hour long practice including a few sprints and low-end aerobic work for active recovery.

Championship week with Summer Nationals starting on Thursday for the older athletes of our squad. Mostly recovery focused evening workout starting with a common low-end aerobic part and a quick swim down for the athletes racing this week.

Skills based lactate focused Saturday morning workout for the athletes qualified for Summer and Junior Nationals. We also provided a slightly different option of the “main set” to the athletes competing in distance events.

Aerobic and sprint focused Friday evening session for the National & Junior National groups. The aerobic work was included for active recovery and integrating “kick-pull-drill” sets and some breath control.
