Different from the first week, we only had a single session this Friday. This practice somewhat “combined” the different speed endurance sets from the past days for a fast morning workout.
Thursday starting with an aerobic and sprint focused morning session for the National & Junior National groups. Today we decided to include some “fun” with the Mission Viejo Nadadores swims and the social kicking during the first two parts of the workout.

I always like doing Pace and Power together. Post Activation Potentiation is the goal of this set or that Taper feeling coming off resistance! Coming off of the chute the swimmers should feel fresh or a little pop on the first couple repetitions after resistance.
Tuesday morning with a kick-pull-swim based recovery session providing “active rest” before the speed endurance focused long course workout in the evening.
Aerobic workout for our Upper group with some just make IM work in the middle. Over the break our athletes are at home, so I am sending them some workouts to keep them in shape and in the water consistently.
Week two of our home-based training camp during the fall holidays will be following a similar plan as last week and thus starting with a speed heavy day including aerobic work and fast 25’s in the morning to prepare the athletes for a speed endurance focused evening session.
The National & Junior National groups were finishing another week with an aerobic kicking focused morning session this Saturday. “Moving up” to a total of 30×100’s from last week’s initial set of 20 and doing the last one for time with fins this time around.
Friday morning recovery with our second kick-pull-swim based session this week followed by a tough speed endurance focused workout in the evening.
