Speed based Tuesday session including sets of fast 25’s and short sprints. The number of repeats decrease during the three parts to keep the tempo and intensity at the highest level possible throughout.
Monday session including plenty of speed and sprint work alternating fast swimming and kicking. We also continue to use fins & paddles for above race speed and extra power during the fast efforts.
Speed and sprint focused Tuesday session working on sets of 25’s with increasing intensity and intervals while also providing “equal” recovery.
Thursday providing two options with #1 being a fast session including speed and sprint work while #2 being a more active recovery focused session including some light resistance work.
Second fast session of the week on this Tuesday alternating sprint and speed work also including some aerobic kicking and breath control.
Saturday workout including a speed and a sprint block each preceded by two 25’s incorporating resistance to “enhance” the feel during the fast efforts.
Fast Wednesday practice including speed sets, sprints, and some overspeed efforts. We also used a little bit of resistance work to prepare for the sprints. Everything was either very high or low intensity today.
Speed and sprint focused Saturday workout to close out this week of training. This was actually the session we had planned for Friday.
Short and simple Saturday morning session finishing this mostly low-aerobic focused week including a few short speed and sprint efforts.
Aerobic and sprint focused session including more kicking as we work on getting back in shape and aim to swim mainly at high speed with perfect technique.
