Last morning session this Tuesday before traveling to Geneva the following day. About an hour of recovery to keep a good feel for the water ahead of the Championships.
Last couple of days before the start of Swiss Long Course Championships in Geneva. We had a recovery focused day in Basel including two shorter workouts incorporating a few fast efforts.
Following a full day off on Saturday and extra rest on Sunday morning for the sprint specialist of the group, we went for a recovery swim in the afternoon to keep the good feel of the water leading into the championship meet.
Last day training at CST in Tenero for the Team Armee athletes as they were provided the opportunity to join back with their home teams for the final days leading into the Swiss Long Course Championships starting the following Thursday in Geneva.
Overall relaxed Thursday for the Team Armee athletes in Tenero. Recovery was the main focus of the day. The sprint specialist of the group was off in the morning indulging on extra rest and sleep.
Mid-week with an aerobic and recovery focused day of training for the Team Armee athletes. Our sprint specialist is slowly decreasing overall volume and keeping intensity mostly low when not close or at race tempo.
We are in “Championship Week” mode with only 10 days to Swiss Long Course Nationals and really starting to focus on resting and fine tuning the details.
Pre-meet Friday for the Team Armee athletes including an aerobic recovery based morning workout and a meet preparation session incorporating short sprints in the afternoon.
Aerobic based Thursday morning including kicking sets for both of our athletes with the sprint specialist focusing more on drills and breath control while the distance guy went through a couple blocks of 200’s freestyle.
Mid-week starting with an early Pilates session by Simone Chatelain joining the SCUW squad for their regular Wednesday morning routine before jumping in the pool. Our sprint specialist had just an hour long recovery workout following the dryland.
