Aerobic Friday afternoon workout for the National & Junior National groups. This week, we were again at the outdoor pool in Wangen training long course and this was another one of our “SYOP” practices.
Speed focused day of training for the National & Junior National groups. This Thursday morning session for the student-athletes of the sports class included aerobic elements without adding too much volume to the speed work.
Mid-week “long” aerobic evening workout for the National & Junior National groups. We only had about 75 minutes of pool time this Wednesday with the session timed to last about an hour and everybody swimming at their own pace.
Overall aerobic focused day of training for the National & Junior National groups. The morning practice for the student-athletes of the sports class included main and short axis stroke work. The session aimed to provide them with some additional recovery after the three day meet in Basel.
Friday evening practice for all athletes across our “competition groups” not attending the first day of the meet in Basel. Just a short hour including some preparations with a couple of race pace and dive efforts along with some aerobic elements for recovery.
Aerobic and sprint focused Thursday morning practice for the National & Junior National groups. Long rest on the fast efforts and low intensity during the aerobic parts with the IBC meet starting tomorrow or Saturday for the athletes.
Mid-week recovery focused evening workout for the National & Junior National groups including mostly cruise freestyle sets and a mix of breath control and drills.
Aerobic and recovery focused Tuesday morning for the student-athletes. Mostly relaxed freestyle and some breath control with a longer “kick-pull-drill” block in the middle. Today we had a few athletes jump in before our sports class and they got just past the first two parts of the session.
This Monday we were able to train with both groups at the same time. The emphasis was on the short sprint sets this evening with just a little relaxed aerobic swimming to prepare or recover built around it.
