Starting this new week with a shorter aerobic based evening practice. Kicking will continue to be a big part of our work this week but overall our focus will shift to speed culminating with the meet in Biel where we aim to get a few more fast short course swims before racing will take place in the big pool for the rest of the season.

Sprint focused Saturday morning practice for the National & Junior National groups to close out this first week of training following our break including racing skills and breath control as recovery.

Longer aerobic focused Friday evening practice for the National & Junior National groups following a “kick-pull-swim” pattern and finishing with some social kicking.

Wednesday practice for the National & Junior National groups continuing our aerobic and sprint themed first week back in the pool following our break. This evening we emphasized “fast feet” with short flutter or underwater fly kicking sprints.

First day back following our break with an aerobic and sprint focused evening practice for the National & Junior National groups. We will emphasize kicking this first week as we try to slowly increase volume and also integrate plenty of skills such as dive & glide and underwaters with some of our younger athletes preparing for “national testing day”.

Relaxed aerobic focused Friday evening session for the National & Junior National group. This was our last practice as we took a 10 day break during the first week of the Spring holidays to provide the athletes some time away with family and real rest.

Fast Thursday evening session for the National & Junior National groups including a few speedy swims and a couple dive sprints as well as underwater kicking work. Everything else this evening was low-end aerobic work and used as prep or recovery.

Mid-week aerobic recovery focused evening workout for the National & Junior National groups. The session included individual drills to work on strokes and alternated kicking and pulling during the first and last part.

Aerobic and speed focused day of training starting with the morning practice for the student-athletes of the sports class including mostly short sprints. As last week, we did jump in half an hour later today and will not be doing a morning session on Thursday for extra rest this week.
