Last practice of the week was an aerobic kicking focused morning session for the National & Junior National groups. We have made good improvements in this area, however, will build “leg strength” over the coming three weeks with a “big” kick set on Saturdays.

Hump day practice during this active recovery training week included more relaxed aerobic and sprint work for the National & Junior National squads. We split up in two groups for the main chunk of work and finished the evening with a “team float”.

After yesterday’s session, arms were sore. I wanted to make sure that the swimmers were relying more on their kick than their pull, so I wrote a workout that primed the legs before getting into the nuts and bolts of butterfly.
