Sprint focused day of training for the National & Junior National groups. The morning workout for the student-athletes of the sports class included low-end aerobic elements.
We had almost all of our athletes at practice this Thursday morning with a public holiday that provided most of them with a day off from school. Aerobic and sprint focused session to prepare for the fast workout in the evening.
Aerobic and sprint focused Thursday morning session for the student-athletes of the sports class. Covering the basics to get them ready for the threshold workout in the evening.
Aerobic and sprint focused Thursday morning practice for the National & Junior National groups. Long rest on the fast efforts and low intensity during the aerobic parts with the IBC meet starting tomorrow or Saturday for the athletes.
Aerobic and recovery focused Tuesday morning for the student-athletes. Mostly relaxed freestyle and some breath control with a longer “kick-pull-drill” block in the middle. Today we had a few athletes jump in before our sports class and they got just past the first two parts of the session.
This Monday we were able to train with both groups at the same time. The emphasis was on the short sprint sets this evening with just a little relaxed aerobic swimming to prepare or recover built around it.
Mid-week aerobic focused workout for the National & Junior National groups including a few short sprints. Overall low intensity this Wednesday evening with just one more session left at home before the meet in Schaffhausen.
On Wednesdays, our water time is shortened due to water polo games for the high school. This week, I wanted to begin to throw a little more speed work their way. Since we are still early-season and building up endurance and stamina, I am constantly looking to change up variables.
Aerobic focused Tuesday morning practice for the student-athletes of our sports class including cruise 50’s and two blocks following a “kick-pull-drill” pattern through the first two parts before incorporating just a little bit of speed work to finish the session.
Aerobic and sprint focused Friday evening practice for the National & Junior National squad including some “longer distances” and short full speed efforts.
