Another session for the sprinters and IM team members. Focus is on speed, breakouts during hard / sprint efforts. The warm-up sets the table for the main part.
In the main sets, the 75’s are structured so the last 75 yields around :10 rest. Starting easy, ending each round strong.
An overall aerobic and speed focused Monday for the team in Biel. The morning session included shorter sprints and short axis stroke work while in the evening, we incorporated dive efforts and fins for the fast sets.
My last session with the Beluga kids in Biel this Saturday morning continuing our meet preparation work with a couple quality sprints as well as some fun with a relay at the end.
Aerobic and mostly relaxed Friday for the team in Biel with active recovery in mind as well as high quality “work & effort” for the skills parts in the evening.
Thursday with two rather big workouts for the team in Biel. During the morning session, we alternated some more “technical” blocks integrating short axis stroke work with short kick-pull-sprint blocks.
As I start to feel better and with enough lane space during regular lap swimming hours, I’m trying to implement a bit more of butterfly into my short workouts. This Friday, I also included a couple short sprints and some faster 25’s.
This Tuesday included a pretty relaxed morning and a rather intense evening workout for the team in Biel.
Saturday morning “racing” practice for the Beluga kids in Biel. They will soon have their first competition of the season and today we really wanted to hone in on starts and underwaters with a couple high quality sprints.
Finishing this week of training with a low-end aerobic morning workout integrating kicking, pulling, and some breath control.
