The following are three consecutive workouts which were completed on a Tuesday and Wednesday this July with a focus on anaerobic capacity and power work. Session 1 below was an anaerobic capacity workout.

Jun 26, 2016 – Podium Swimming – High Aerobic / Endurance
For my distance and open water swimmers, a solid long endurance set. In all the sets below, the send-offs are written with a 1:15 base 100 time (LCM) in mind.

This was our mid-week afternoon recovery practice allowing everyone to stretch out during the swim.

Saturday morning session from our lone athlete training at home. I wanted him to do a lot of fast swimming as everybody else was racing somewhere in the world this weekend . . .

I have recently started doing a fun but beneficial circuit training sessions on Friday mornings. This is a typical Friday AM session this season.

Two more aerobic build sessions with some speed work in the afternoon for our lone athlete training at home while everyone is away for meets. The morning was more aerobic focused with tempo changes for the 200's during the main set . . .

Last morning session before we flew out to Norway for the North Sea Swim Meet. This was the workout for our top backstroker. Everyone else got the morning off as we were planning on swimming in Stavanger after the flight . . .
