First week in Magglingen at BASPO for the new athletes joining the Team Armee. We weren’t able to train the first two days and were in the pool for the first time this Wednesday afternoon.
Aerobic and breaststroke focused Thursday session for the last pool workout this week. Mixing a little bit of everything to make the most out of this opportunity to “enhance” the feel for the water.
Mid-week speed and breaststroke focused workout for this second day that she was able to swim this week.

Championship Week! Last session at home this Monday before competing at Long Course Nationals. Short taper workout including a quick resistance and sprint main set during the middle part of the practice.
Last Saturday session and one more racing practice before the start of the competition next week. It was really about fine tuning and gaining some self-confidence.
Short recovery based Friday taper workout keeping things really simple.
Speed focused Thursday session mixing short rest resistance type work with long rest high quality race tempo swimming including some overspeed during the first part of the practice.
This is the taper version of our mid-week “Post Gym Recovery Protocol” which after remaining mostly unchanged the last few Wednesdays is now offering three options and variations of those to provide as much “freedom” to the athlete as possible.
Sprint focused Tuesday session including resistance work to “accelerate and emphasize” the feel on the fast efforts. There were no intervals on the resisted and sprint 25’s – goal was to get the equipment off, shift focus, and get into a high quality sprint.
