Aerobic and kicking focused Thursday evening session aiming for active recovery including some short axis stroke work to change the “ingrained freestyle movement patterns”.
Wednesday evening speed endurance focused workout for the Senior group moving up to 65’s after Monday’s session going 35’s fast. We were also aiming to include more main stroke work for the fast efforts instead of “just” going freestyle all the time.
Aerobic and sprint focused Tuesday for some “active recovery” between our two speed endurance training days. The morning session for our “student-athletes” was incorporating a little more fly and breast work while the evening session with the full group included more kicking.
Moving our training base from the outdoor pool in Solothurn to the Traglufthalle in Zuchwil as we continue our speed endurance focused cycle. During this third week, we will increase the distance going fast every other day starting this Monday evening at the lower end with 35’s again.
Special Saturday “fitness lunch session” for our two top groups to close out this year’s outdoor season in a local 16 meter indoor school pool. We started with a longer dryland part outside on the “turf” including a warm-up and some “agility” running drills before moving inside for the “stations fun” in the pool.
Fast Friday evening session for the Senior group in Solothurn with more speed endurance work to close out this week of training.
Aerobic and kicking focused Thursday evening workout including different options for our event groups through the last part of the session.
Wednesday evening session mixing (pure) speed and overspeed work on relatively short rest to stay in line with the “endurance” component of this week’s training for the Senior group.
Aerobic focused Tuesday evening session mixing swimming and kicking incorporating sprint work during the middle part of the practice.
Monday evening workout from the Senior group focusing on speed endurance. This week we worked on keeping the speed longer and increased the fast distance from 35 to 65 meters.
