Aerobic focused Thursday afternoon for the Team Armee athletes including a sprint, an active recovery, and a skills (turns) emphasis depending on different needs at this time of the season.
Full day dedicated to training this Wednesday with two shorter aerobic focused sessions for the athletes recovering from Swiss Short Course Nationals and a pace focused workout for our athlete preparing for Short Course World Championships.
First practice of week four for the Team Armee athletes on this Tuesday following a day off after three days of racing at Swiss Short Course Nationals. Post-meet recovery with relaxed aerobic work except for our Short Course World Championships qualifier who was back in “full training”.
Last practice of this week before traveling to Sion for the Swiss Short Course Nationals. We were able to swim in the morning and completely recover in the afternoon as the rest of the athletes in the Army program went on their overnight “survival mission”.
Tuesday started with a short wake-up swim early in the morning before their basic training input with the Army instructors. The afternoon was “off” and thus we were able to have a full session in the pool.
Week three for the athletes of Team Armee at BASPO in Magglingen starting with a morning workout as we got to switch training groups on this Monday with Swiss Short Course Nationals set to begin on Friday. All three athletes were doing a mix of aerobic including speed and sprint work.
Last day of week two at BASPO in Magglingen starting with a short wake-up swim early in the morning on this Friday. We had time for a regular workout in the afternoon before the athletes went home for the weekend.
Single session this Thursday with a regular training window on schedule in the afternoon for our group. The workouts included a mix of aerobic and anaerobic capacity while also incorporating short speed sets.
This week’s Wednesday afternoon session included mostly aerobic and sprint work with a little bit of a breaststroke focus for our “distance” athlete.
Following another short active recovery swim before the start of their basic training in the morning, we were able to get a full workout in the pool this Tuesday afternoon. Mainly a mix of aerobic and anaerobic work for all three athletes.
