Some numbers and insights from the first month of the new year. As expected our overall pageviews went down in December with the holidays and year end festivities.
IMU 2017 | 100 Backstroke Final – Kylie Masse (CAN)
Canadian Olympian and Rio bronze medalist Kylie Masse competing in the 100 backstroke final at the International Swim Meet in Uster, Switzerland.
She won the race in a time of 59.60 (29.43/30.17) – watch for her extremely stable and high body position in the water throughout the race. And pay close attention to how the stroke rate seems to be lower on the first 50 but then holding it up (or maybe even slightly increasing it) blasting off the wall at the turn to keep that steady speed and seemingly not slowing down compared to the other athletes.

ISF 2016 | 100 Breaststroke Final – Rikke Pedersen (DEN)
Danish National Team member and 200 breaststroke World Record holder Rikke Møller Pedersen competing in the final of the 100 breaststroke at the ISF in Aachen
She won the race in a time of 1:06.90 – watch for her wide and strong arm stroke as well as her powerful kick propelling her forward. Even at a world class level, it seems that Rikke still has potential to swim faster by improving her pullouts.
