First full day of training of the new season including a morning and evening practice for the team in Biel. The early morning session was done at the CTS in Biel while the evening took place at the BASPO in Magglingen.
This Thursday evening started with their “season kick-off team meeting” and thus we jumped in about 30 minutes later. We still got good work done continuing our aerobic and sprint mix theme during this first week to get back in the groove.
Wednesday is a single session day in Biel with only a morning workout providing the athletes some rest mid-week in the afternoon.
Monday evening was the last practice for the STBB NWF Elite + Kader groups with their retiring Head Coach Annelies Maas. She let the team play water-polo and they got a good workout out of that to kick-off the new season.
First official workout of the new season for the Beluga group this Tuesday evening. This squad includes 10 and 11 year old kids transitioning from the smaller learn to swim pool and taking their first steps in a “training & competition” group.
Last morning session this Tuesday before traveling to Geneva the following day. About an hour of recovery to keep a good feel for the water ahead of the Championships.
Last couple of days before the start of Swiss Long Course Championships in Geneva. We had a recovery focused day in Basel including two shorter workouts incorporating a few fast efforts.
Following a full day off on Saturday and extra rest on Sunday morning for the sprint specialist of the group, we went for a recovery swim in the afternoon to keep the good feel of the water leading into the championship meet.
Last day training at CST in Tenero for the Team Armee athletes as they were provided the opportunity to join back with their home teams for the final days leading into the Swiss Long Course Championships starting the following Thursday in Geneva.
