Wednesday with mostly aerobic focused sessions for the group including some speed work for our sprint specialist in the morning and a big breaststroke main set for our distance athlete in the afternoon.
Our sprint guy was going through an aerobic power type of workout in the morning and a “skills” based practice in the evening following a tough weight session.
Starting week two at altitude in St. Moritz with some rest in the afternoon for our sprint and mid-distance specialists. Aerobic and speed focused morning for the two while our distance athlete had quite a big Monday with two pool and one weight session.
No rest for the wicked on this Sunday as we aim to take advantage and make the most of our time in St. Moritz training at altitude. Also during these three plus weeks, rest days were quite individual for each of the three athletes to accommodate for the different needs while we went through this important block of work towards Swiss Long Course Nationals.
Aerobic Saturday in St. Moritz integrating lots of kicking sets during the morning workout and short sprints in the afternoon session.
Friday morning was the first “full” practice for our mid-distance ace with a big aerobic freestyle focused main set incorporating negative splitting.
Aerobic focused Thursday for the sprint athlete including sprints during the morning workout and aiming to aid with recovery following a weight session in the afternoon ahead of the swim.
This Wednesday was a full day in the pool for our sprint specialist including two aerobic based workouts integrating short fast efforts. We were still building practices to normal intensity as we continued to adapt being at altitude.
Day two at altitude in St. Moritz keeping things aerobic and pretty relaxed while slowly adding intensity with short fast efforts.
All of the athletes made their way to St. Moritz for our altitude training camp. These first few days we will keep things relatively low intensity to adapt to environment. Today we had two aerobic based sessions including a few short sprints.
