We are three weeks out from our State Championships and running a modified seven week final cycle as opposed to our normal 5 week cycle. As a result we will be doing aerobic and anaerobic power sets this week.

All athletes across the Army program had to "endure" a physical performance test in the morning. So we kicked off training this week with a short aerobic recovery swim session in the afternoon . . .

Swiss Army Team – Optional Session Week #5
This is an optional afternoon session for the athletes to do at home with their club team or on their own. We did a short dryland circuit in the morning after their Army class before they were allowed to go home for the weekend.

Second week of short course (yards) season and we have introduced almost all of our kick positions, drill progressions, and training habits to the group.

Wednesday afternoon "maintenance" session with a mix of aerobic freestyle and stroke work. There's additional work at the end for some of our mid-distance athletes feeling more comfortable keeping the volume steady during taper . . .
