Two low-end aerobic sessions with some speed work integrated throughout both workouts. The afternoon session was in some ways an "extension" to the morning and continuing the pattern of mixing longer swims with higher intensity sets . . .

Oct 17, 2016 – Plantation Swim Team – Sprint Workout
Sprint focused session with an early get out option for our 4A High School athletes and some short pace work before the recovery for everyone else.
Oct 13, 2016 – IUP Crimson Hawks
This is a distance set with a focus on stroke endurance. Stroke specialists are overtraining for the 200 events. Freestylers work on negative split as close to 500 pace for the fast as possible.

Some relaxed aerobic work to start out a new week of training on Monday evening with a good amount of breath control and technique work. Two groups for the main part with the distance athletes doing more freestyle . . .

Coach Stuart – 1500 Rush Set
A number of myths exist regarding Ultra-Short Race-Pace Training (USRPT). One in particular is that it is only suitable for sprinters. Wrong! In fact, USRPT comes into it’s element when implemented for longer distance events.

During our Monday morning practice we like to emphasize kicking. This practice incorporates kicking on the wall, transitioning into an open turn working on good underwater dolphin kicks.
