How has your summer been this year? Busy and with plenty of time away from the computer screen? It certainly were action packed and entraining weeks in the swimming world!
Swimmer’s Ear – Episode 22 – Spectators? For Swimming?
World Champs are starting soon, but I don’t know if I’ll watch all of it. I think watching 12 & Under Champs was more exciting … am I alone in that sentiment?
Stats & Memberships Report: June 2019
June was a busy month in the swimming community – both for the athletes with some first high-level meets and the “musical chairs” for the coaches. We’re glad to have made the “expected turnaround” looking at the numbers for the platform.
Swimmer’s Ear – Episode 21 – The Inner Ear
The inner ear is responsible for our sense of balance, and work-life balance is what Coach Sarah is discussing in this week’s episode of the Podcast. Hear about the swim coach “lifestyle” and some of her personal struggle in the past weeks.
Stats & Memberships Report: May 2019
Hopefully, the month of May was the turnaround of 2019 for the PSW platform and is going to take us to new heights during the second half of the year. We still saw slightly declining “pageviews” while we had more “unique users” visit again.
Swimmer’s Ear – Episode 20 – I’m Back
Coach Sarah has been on hiatus. The last five months were a lot to handle, and the Podcast took a backseat*. But now she’s back, motivated, and ready to dive back in (to sitting in her computer chair and talking about swimming).
10th Annual Hall of Fame Coaches Summit
The annual Hall of Fame Coaches Summit hosted by the International Swim Coaches Association will be held from August 27 to 30 in Clearwater Beach. As every year there will be a great lineup of speakers and talks during the four days.
The Swim Brief – Checking In With Nicolas Messer
In this episode of The Swim Brief Podcast Coach Nico checks in with Chris DeSantis from a brand new geographic location.
They talk about how he ended up in Lund, Sweden, and what his new job as SUM-Sim Tränare with Simklubben Poseidon entails. During this discussion, they briefly talk about the upcoming World Aquatic Development Conference (WADC) as well as the Swedish Center for Aquatic Research (SCAR). Chris has traveled to Lund with his team while he was working in Denmark to take advantage of AIM – a high-speed camera system with 23 high definition (100fps) cameras capturing both underwater and above water swimming technique.
Although most of this episode is more of a “deck talk” between two coaching friends and providing more “entertainment” than real swimming talk value, they also get into the topic of streamlines! Is it time to reconsider the streamline? Are streamlines bad? Chris puts Nico on the spot on whether he has joined the anti-streamline coalition.
If you want to hear more about the future of streamlines listen to the “Streamlines Are Bad With Joel Rollings” episode of The Swim Brief Podcast.

Stats & Memberships Report: April 2019
Seems like we’re losing traction lately with another month indicating decreasing numbers despite getting a lot of positive feedback. Success rarely is a straight line and we wouldn’t expect this to be different for the PSW platform.
Stats & Memberships Report: March 2019
March was the start of an exciting and busy few weeks for coaches & athletes around the globe with meets such as the NCAA Championships as well as many other National Championships.
