Aug 20, 2014 – Podium Swim Club – OTC Special
The main set of this workout has a couple nicknames within my club…currently it’s being called “The OTC Special”. This set is based off a session that was done by a couple of my athletes while working out with the mens triathlon team at the Olympic Training Center here in Colorado Springs.
Aug 18, 2014 – T2 Aquatics – The Start of a New Season
The following is the first practice of our Fall Season. I have an inexperienced group in the pool, with mostly High School-aged athletes.
T2 Aquatics – Distance “Mini Season”
At times, coaches are challenged to come up with a plan for Distance Athletes who swim a distance race on the first day of the meet and a distance race on the last day of the meet — with no events in between.
Aug 10, 2014 – Haden Hill Swimming Club
This is a session plan for a 75 minute session for GB ASA stage 8 swimmers I did last week. The kids were about 8-9 years old. Focus is always on technique and basic aerobic development.
Cooper City Cyclones – The Miler
Here is one of our early season aerobic / distance workouts geared toward our Mile and Open Water swimmers. As you may have guessed our sprinters get testy during these, but after all the grumbling and being early season, everyone benefits very well from these aerobic from endurance sets.
Aug 5, 2014 – Haddington and District ASC
First session back let’s see who’s still reasonably fit!
Jul 31, 2014 – Podium Swim Club – Race Prep & Stroke Work
Last week I had a guest athlete swimming with my club. He was heading to FINA Masters Worlds in Montreal, so to help prep him with some final quality work, we had everyone get involved. It was an opportunity to work on speed, stroke-work, and form. Race prep, without too much fatigue was on the agenda.
