Plenty of speed and pace work this Tuesday for our Elite athletes preparing for the end of summer meets.
Wednesday evening with another short and relaxed swim for the Senior group. Four identical sets with repeat 50’s and 200’s kicking, drilling, and sculling.
Thursday early morning circuit session including short axis stroke work to prepare for another tough threshold and speed focused afternoon workout. Overall challenging day for the SUMSIM group with great efforts across the board.
Aerobic and sprint focused Monday for the “senior” athletes of the Elite group not preparing to race at Junior Nationals.
Short and relaxed Monday evening swim for the Senior group to start this new week of optional summer workouts.
Mid-week speed and recovery focused afternoon workout for the SUMSIM group. Starting with a short speed part including just a few fast 25’s before finishing with a “longer” aerobic part for active recovery.
Optional Sunday morning session with two of our “Senior” athletes preparing for Junior Nationals and some “visitors” from the Junior group. The first workout was more freestyle focused while the second one included more medley work.
Sprint focused Friday evening workout for the Senior group in Solothurn. Three short sets following the same pattern for a session that lasted about an hour.
Threshold focused Tuesday of training for the SUMSIM group starting with a circuit style early morning workout. We did include some “tempo work” already to prepare for the afternoon and as during most of these session used the aerobic parts for active recovery.
Faster aerobic paced Saturday morning including some speed work for our Elite athletes. Following the main part, they took over the diving well for about half an hour for some “additional laps”.
