Sep 4, 2021 – Swim Regio Solothurn

For our first meet of the new season we went back to the pool in Aarau where it all ended for us in the summer at Swiss Junior Nationals joining the local SC Aarefisch for their team champs.

One of the things we wanted to change (have more control over) for this season is warm-up and swim down at meets. We’re hoping for a more “new normal” but still expect some restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic. During this past season, time and/or lane space available for warm-up and swim down were heavily impacted – some athletes had no issues adapting to these changes while others were also heavily impacted (and thus their results). This was the main reason for us to take over these two parts and provide the athletes with more “prescriptions”.

Speed Meet

Warm-up:
[ first part for all athletes at the start; additional warm-up as needed ]
300 as 100 free DPS, 50 back one arm drill (25 each)
6×50 free as 1x build, 1x pace (800-400-200) R15″
200 as 25 scull, 25 double arm back, 50 choice drill
4×50 choice as 1x (25 kick, 25 build), 1x (25 FAST, 25 easy) R15″
100 as 15 sprint (can be from dive), 85 easy

Swim down:
[ after last swim of the day; additional swim down as needed ]
6×50 as 1x free smooth breathe 5, 1x back kick strong R15″
2×100 as 25 free decreasing speed, 75 back or free smooth R15″
200 as 50 free, 25 scull, 50 back, 25 scull, 50 free
